MACON
The Macon project consists of converting an existing Piggly Wiggly to a net rentable, 46,500 sq ft storage facility with approximately ~500 storage units.
The existing structure sat vacant for years after it sustained significant damage when a massive HVAC unit was lifted up during a tornado and came crashing down onto the roof of this building. The significant roof damage had the power to intimidate many other prospective investors and builders, causing them to pass on this diamond in the rough. After spending weeks sourcing new steel trusses, we were able to procure and engineer a new steel truss system. We take on any project, our motto is “The uglier, the better” and this project is a true example of that.
The goal for this property is to fill the need for storage in and around Macon, GA. There is an undersupply of storage facilities offering climate-controlled units. Based on a feasibility study, there is an under-developed demand for storage in the vicinity. The solution for the “value add” opportunity is converting the existing building and uplifting it to the City Storage brand.
